By 2012 passengers can take buses and tunnel vehicles only by one IC card in the nine cities of Pearl River Delta Region in the southern Guangdong province. A recently announced plan by the provincial government despicts the networking life in the region, Guangzhou Daily reports.
The blue print regarding to infrastructure, industries development, environmental protection, urban planning and public service set the goal within five years.
According to the plan, dwellers in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Zhongshan, Donguan, Huizhou, Jiangmen Zhaoqing cities can transfer their social insurance freely and share medical service.
An IC card for public transport can be used in different cities. Long-distance and roaming charges will be lowered and cancelled.
Financial services such as industry park, free trade zone and science park are encouraged to operated by neighbouring cities.
The near Hong Kong and Macau are also supposed to be included in the networking circle for more cooperations in different aspects.
