The free trade zone's main southern area will account for 4.53 square kilometers in Zhongluotan Town (钟落潭镇), which is strategically connected to several highways and located only five kilometers from the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and FedEx Express Asian and Pacific Transshipment Center.
With the combined functions of customs clearance, export processing and tax-free logistics, the zone – which is expecting approval in June – will provide corporations with multiple tax-free and refund privileges.
Guangzhou's free trade zone will be China's second comprehensive bonded zone after its counterpart in Beijing, which has an area of 5.944 square kilometers.
